Intro to my world

How I was stubborn again and decided to start a blog

Hello, world.

I just wanted to make myself happy for once. So, I (coded and) founded a new blog to share my creativity and how I fix the problems I confront.

Here I am. Before I start, I think I should mention that I am not a professional; I am a typical fast self-learner. I like beading, wiring, painting, landscape photography, a little bit of product photography, coding, embroidery, pottery, watercolour painting, scrapbooking, a little bit of carpentry, sewing, knitting, crocheting, lampwork glass beads, quilling, soldering ... but it's mostly 3D printing and 3D modelling that have excited me lately. So, let's check out the tools I've been using and dive a little bit into my background.

Fusion 360

I did the absolute minimum over Christmas 2020. I took a four-hour course on Udemy on Fusion 360, and even that was excruciating because I wanted to model by myself from the first minute. I learned the absolute minimum and was able to model the stuff I needed to model.

I don't want to teach you to master Fusion 360; I shouldn't have. I want to show you how I know one can 'achieve' with the bare minimum.

Prusa Slicer

This was the same scenario as with Fusion 360; I did the absolute minimum to get the objects I wanted to have.

Fortunately, I have a friend who was willing to give me a quick introduction to Prusa Slicer. Since then, I’ve been adding knowledge as I go.

Family background

It's probably worth mentioning my background. My father was the financial director of several construction companies (big ones), but there was a reason why he focused on the construction business. He loves that world. My grandfather was a manually very skilled man and taught my father, from his childhood, how to build and fix stuff. I don't know anyone more generally skilled than he is. My father is retired now, so sometimes I consult him on my projects, especially the big ones, to make sure my calculations are correct.

My mother spent almost 20 years at home raising me and my (nine years younger) sister. I was very sick when I was born, so she had no option but to stay at home with me. Then, when I got better, my sister was born. It was unfortunate because she is talented in design and would have made it worldwide. However, when my sister was growing up and I didn't have health issues anymore, she got a degree in teaching, learned English, and received an accounting certification. She is currently a teacher in a private high school and teaches English for fun and excitement. Also, she has a floristic and interior design studio in Prague, which we basically founded together about six years ago.

About this blog

I've got no Pulitzer ambitions or to become some kind of an influencer or whatever. I would like to meet more people like me, share our experiences, get better and have fun while doing it.

Every post will be in both the Czech and English languages. Because why not since I speak both of the languages. And maybe I'll add another language one day as well.

Any feedback is welcomed, except for the rude ones.

Let's start.

Luci

Craftwoman

A female version of Tim Taylor, who needs to create nice shiny stuff as a proper lady, yet in a technical way like a proper macho. Instead of bold Craftswoman, she should call herself Lady Kludge.
